Since relocating Montrachet to Bowen Hills’ thriving promenade King Street, owner and head chef Shannon Kellam has been greatly expanding the restaurant’s baking capabilities. Beyond rolling out a new range of bread for dine-in patrons to devour, Shannon and his team opened its own boulangerie in late 2017, debuting a selection of treats from handcrafted croissants to decadent eclairs. The crew is took things up another notch in 2018 – closing the boulangerie and shifting operations down the road and opening new pastry palace King Street Bakery. Established favourites such as artisan brioche, baguettes and loaves are still available, but the range has been supplemented with a selection of covetable Viennoiseries, sweet and savoury tarts, and more. King Street Bakery also serves an a la carte menu of Parisian-inspired fare for breakfast and lunch, while also stocking European and Australian wine and beer.
