The team behind beloved Newstead caffeine pitstop Salt Coffee Roasters will soon open a sibling venue, just a stone’s throw from James Street. Little Salt – opening in late-July – is the brainchild of Salt’s owner Zac Lazarac and Jordan Navybox, the managing director of top-tier buyer’s agency Cohen Handler. Little Salt is taking shape at the front of Cohen Handler’s new office on McLachlan Street, mere meters from the entrance to Little James Street. Interior design and property development group Shaw and Keenan and construction specialists Brooklyn Building Co. are on board for Little Salt’s conceptualisation and fit-out, which will boast a sleek all-white aesthetic with green accents. A coffee bar will face a sunny deck, which will feature a cluster of seats for dine-in shaded by cabana-style umbrellas. As for the coffee itself, Salt will have its signature Julie blend on deck, plus a weekly rotation of freshly roasted single origins for batch brews. Stay tuned for more details!
