Since November 2015, Andrea Harcourt has been ensuring Windsor locals are fed and watered with her wholesome cuisine-focused cafe Marketcart. Situated across the road from the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, Andrea wanted to create a space that was the opposite of the clinical environment of the hospital’s interior, creating a warm and welcoming space for hospital workers, visitors and locals alike to come and relax, host a meeting or grab a healthy bite on their way to or from work. Working with a consulting dietician, Andrea has created a range of wholefood options using locally sourced ingredients without preservatives. Marketcart starts the day with a range of breakfast bites including breakfast burritos, egg and ham muffins, yoghurt and fruit cups and more. As the day progresses the shelves are restocked with lunch items such as chicken and bacon sandwiches, lemon haloumi wraps, Vietnamese pork wraps, Tasmanian salmon salads and much more. Coffee lovers will be thrilled to know that Marketcart has enlisted Bear Bones for its brand of choice, and non-coffee drinkers should know that Origin Tea and juice from Emma & Tom’s is also available. If you don’t have time to cook, Marketcart also sells take-home meals to make things easier on your schedule.
