Amidst the lively atmosphere of central Sunnybank sits a restaurant that blends the best elements of Japanese and Korean cuisine, then mixes it with a bit of a hip Western vibe. Seoul Bistro is owned an operated by Paul and Rob McMullen, Canadian expats who started Seoul Bistro to show off their refined recipes. The results of chef Paul’s culinary explorations are evident on the menu at Seoul Bistro – fried chicken is a specialty, with Seoul Bistro’s chicken wings a popular choice among regulars. Crispy fried, honey wasabi, buffalo and peri peri are just a few of the flavours you can try, or you can opt for dishes such as grilled chicken teriyaki, smoky spicy pork, chicken karaage or the crispy chicken Japa-Burger. If you’ve got a formidable hunger, pop in for the buffet service, which gives you unlimited fried-chicken wings, thin-cut fries, garlic bread and lemon iced tea for $21.9 per person. Seoul Bistro also offers a range of drinks including freshly brewed lemon iced tea, juices, milkshakes and green tea – not to mention Korean and Japanese beers, soju and rice wine. To celebrate five years of operation, Seoul Bistro unveiled a new 100-seat indoor and outdoor dining area in the final days of 2018, so now there is plenty of space to gorge on the tasty delights on offer.
