West End is slowly transforming into beer central thanks to the abundance of craft beer bars opening in the area and Catchment Brewing Co is the latest venue that is set to serve hoppy goodness. Located on 150 Boundary Street in a stylish art-deco building, Catchment Brewing Co boasts two laneway bars and two interior bars upstairs and downstairs. Patrons are able to enjoy a range of share plates and mains are available – with a sizable amount of seafood on offer – along with great beer and wine in a space that emphasises the restored pressed-metal ceilings and brickwork of the buildings interior. Brewmaster Mick Jontef has come on board to oversee the brewing aspect of the business and is responsible for concocting the in-house brews – a full strength golden ale dubbed The Catchment Colonial Ale and the amber coloured Pale Select Ale.
