The Pennisi family has a strong foodie history in Australia, dating back to the 1920s as Queensland’s first cherry growers. The family has continued to please the bellies of Queenslanders over the generations, opening fruit stores and Kenmore’s Ingredients Deli. Its next project is The Fruit & Deli Co, which opened in November 2015 at Westfield North Lakes. The store features a fully visible commercial kitchen, produce section and an international deli including a wide range of paleo, gluten-free, kosher and organic products. The Fruit and Deli Co sources high quality produce, hand-picked and brought directly to the store. Other items are on sale, including gourmet biscuits, boutique cheeses and a range of fresh smoothies, pre-made salads, sandwiches and wraps and coffee.
