Brisbane was blessed with a brand-new multi-faceted arts space in 2018, when The Third Quarter opened on Petrie Terrace. The social enterprise is part contemporary art gallery, part bar and part retail and events space, facilitating public arts events as well as hosting a range of industry events such as seminars and panel discussions. The Third Quarter’s gallery space regularly exhibits art from local, national and international artists. In addition to exhibitions in its Ochre Gallery by professional artists, The Third Quarter’s Cobalt Gallery is given over to emerging artists and marginalised artists free of hire cost – connecting them with commercial opportunities and community backing.
