In early 2019, to ex-GOMA Restaurant chef Josue Lopez took over the reins of acclaimed East Brisbane restaurant The Wolfe. This venture marks Josue’s first foray into chef/owner territory, together with his wife Krystal. Since taking over, Josh has been transforming the menu, pivoting the fare to include more innovative and imaginative dishes, while racking up accolades of his own. From Tuesday to Friday, The Wolfe serves its phenomenal a la carte menu, which includes dishes such as kangaroo and emu with pumpkin and wattle seed, suckling pig with truffle, mushroom and lillypilly, mutton and eel with onion and waterlilly, and wagyu with brassica, beetroot and blackberry. On Saturdays’ diners sample Josh’s four- or six-course degustation menu, which includes fare like octopus and spanner crab with scallop and squid ink, cauliflower with coffee, fig, crickets and ants, and Jerusalem artichoke with apple and sunflower. The Wolfe also offers vegetarian and vegan menu items and a vegetarian degustation menu, while Tuesday night is BYO night! To make a booking, click here.
