Tucked away in a secluded laneway behind Harveys Bar and Bistro, Tinderbox Kitchen is lighting the woodfired oven and uncorking some top local drops in Fortitude Valley. As the younger sibling of the Fortitude Valley institution Harveys, the new Tinderbox Kitchen is offering guests a more dressed-down approach with the same level of top-notch fare. Having been shaped by the hands of celebrated Brisbane restaurateur and chef PJ McMillan, Tinderbox sees outdoor timber tables nestled beside leafy greenery, while inside a giant Beech Oven takes centre stage. Of course the laid-back vibe doesn’t mean compromised fare, with the Tinderbox Kitchen chefs – led by PJ himself – whipping local produce into a stellar menu made for sharing and snacking.
