Rydges announces new Fortitude Valley hotel

Rydges hotel group has announced its second Brisbane location, with Rydges Fortitude Valley set to open at the Brisbane Showgrounds in 2016.

Scheduled to open in early February, the hotel will sit on King Street, which is planned to be the vibrant lifestyle hub of the Brisbane Showgrounds, featuring a supermarket and up to 40 cafes, bars, restaurants and fresh-food providores. Rydges Fortitude Valley will offer guests the choice of 208 rooms, and facilities such as a fully equipped gym, swimming pool, and meeting and conference rooms.

In a nod to the agricultural history of Brisbane Showgrounds and the RNA, Rydges Fortitude Valley will house Six Acres restaurant, which will offer a paddock-to-plate dining experience, and Paddock Bar, stretching from the inside of the hotel out to an expansive outdoor terrace. Rydges will join a bounty of retailers and apartments, including The Yards and The Terraces, in the overarching Brisbane Showgrounds redevelopment.
