St Lucia’s coffee scene grew by one in early 2022 with the arrival of cosy espresso bar If You Say So. The jolt joint is the brainchild of the caffeine connoisseurs behind boutique roaster The Black Lab Coffee Co. and its Paddington sipping spots Blackout and Noir (a coffee spot and wine bar, respectively). The crew snagged a prime position – a quaint corner spot on Gailey Road – boasting close proximity to newly built residential pockets and Jack Cook Memorial Park. If You Say So caters to St Lucia’s carryout crowd, serving grab-and-go espresso, filter and cold-drip brews alongside Kombu Kombucha and juices. Alternative milks are supplied by The Milkmen, while a small selection of snacks include pastries, Butterbing cookies and doughnuts from Doughluxe. Much like its fellow coffee bar, If You Say So only features a handful of seats for dine-in customers (roughly six indoor and 12 outside), though the team will blankets for those keen to set up in a shady spot in the park across the road.
