For most of its history, skincare has largely catered to the typical male and female gender stereotypes. Very few brands have made the effort to offer gender-neutral products for trans and non-binary customers, as well as those still figuring things out. Skincare expert and TheySkin founder Leona Gallagher noticed more and more individuals from outside these binary identity stereotypes entering her salon and not knowing what skincare products were right for them. As many contemporary brands still perpetuate gender barriers, Leona decided to take matters into her own hands and formulate a range that would help assuage self-image concerns while catering to all skin types, hormone levels and stages of life.
TheySkin’s initial product release features six items, each of which focus on general skin health. Leading the selection is a yellow-hued turmeric latte Australian clay masque that soothes with anti-inflammatory and calming properties. Also available is TheySkin’s Beta For You serum, which boasts vitamin B3, beta glucan and niacinamide for maximum glow-inducing hydration. The rest of the TheySkin offering includes a mineral-rich gel foaming cleanser, a rejuvenating night cream, a healing daily moisturiser and a vitamin C serum.
