For more than 20 years, the genre-defying scat cats of The Cat Empire have delighted audiences across 33 countries and through eight albums. In 2021 after over two decades of grooving hard and jiving harder many of the band’s core members made the choice to step down. But this was not the end of The Cat Empire, only the beginning of a new era. Under the stewardship of original founding members Felix Riebl and Ollie McGill, The Cat Empire has welcomed new members and new influences including bassist Grace Barbe, drummer Daniel Farrugia and percussionist Neda Rahmani. 

Together with the QSO and world-class flamenco artists Richard Tedesco, Johnny Tedesco, and Chantelle Cano, this new line-up will showcase vibrant orchestral reinterpretations of The Cat Empire’s classic hits, including ‘Hello’, ‘How to Explain’, and ‘Days Like These’, as well as exciting new songs drawing on the vibrant worlds of Afro-Cuban, Seychellois Kreol, Brazilian and flamenco music combined with the band’s unique musical sensibilities.
