Presented by Multicultural Australia, ‘Our Journey’ is a celebration of the resilience and contribution of Queensland’s refugee community.Taking place at Brisbane’s iconic La Boite Theatre, the evening will feature performances from Brisbane Tamil and Peruvian communities as well as an exclusive screening of the 2023 film Fremont. Directed by Babak Jalali, Fremont is an award-winning feature film about a former Afghan translator struggling to put her life back together, when a simple message in a cookie brings a moment of revelation. A coming together of the community, ‘Our Journey’ is a celebration of the spirit and courage of refugees as part of World Refugee Day events around the world.
