After the closure of much loved produce store Farmer Joe’s in 2009, Farm House began as a way to continue Farmer Joe’s ethos of farm to plate eating. With a specialty in local and regional produce, Farm House in Kedron is an amazing cafe that supports local growers by enlightening diners on the merits of ingredients sourced from our own back yard. In addition to coffee, loose-leaf tea, smoothies and milkshakes, Farm House offers a menu of simply divine dishes made from the best produce around. If you aren’t much of a breakfast eater, allow Farm House to plate something up you’ll be sure to enjoy. Tuck into breakfast gnocchi with thick-cut bacon and arrabiatta sauce, crispy potato cakes with Black Forest smokehouse bacon and poached eggs, Shakshuka skillets, zucchini and corn fritters or one-pan ricotta hotcakes. When the clock reaches lunchtime, the kitchen whips up the likes of crispy fish tacos, steak sandwiches and vine-ripened tomato and ricotta tarts.
