Finding Fashion brings together two extremely powerful entities in the Brisbane arts and culture scene – Museum of Brisbane and The Stitchery design collective. The Museum has long had a reputation for fostering not only beautiful art but also being an incubator for big ideas, so a partnership with The Stitchery was a perfect match. The collective has a focus on celebrating the culture of fashion as a whole – including the meanings behind it. With these two creative powerhouses at the helm, you can rest assured that the discussions will be ripe.
When it comes to content, the Finding Fashion seminar draws upon the minds of designers, makers and academics to uncover and explore fashion’s role in shaping our country’s unique culture. The stunning Dome Lounge will be overtaken by some of the brightest and boldest minds in the business, including Pamela Easton and Lydia Pearson uncovering how their eponymous brand made it all the way to the top of the Australian fashion scene. The seminar is open to anyone interested in exploring how bold style shapes our national identity, unites communities and creates real change.
The Finding Fashion seminar takes place for one day only on Saturday March 2 at the Museum of Brisbane. Places are extremely limited – to book your place, head to the Museum of Brisbane website.
