Boggo Road Gaol is remembered as a place of punishment for men. It is true… it was. But long before men were locked up here in Number Two Division it was a prison for women!

To celebrate the start of Queensland Women’s Week, we will be holding an event at the Boggo Road Gaol on Thursday the 8th of March at 10:00 am to 12:15 pm for International Women’s Day.

Join us at 10:00 am for a complimentary morning tea served with Scones and Tea then be taken on the 11:00 am History Tour to commemorate Women’s Week guided by a Female guide, with Prison Players Theatre Troupe bringing “Boggo” to “life” with entertaining, dramatic re-enactments for this very special event.

The History Tour that day will be specifically focusing on Boggo Road Gaol, from a female perspective.

Adult Tickets will only be $20 for both the 4th of March and the 8th of March Women’s Week Event.

Adult: $20.00
Concession: $20.00

Plus more prices listed on the website.

***The History of Boggo Road Gaol Tour tells of the dramatic escapes of the 1980’s, infamous inmates, lifers, riots, roof top protests, the daily lives of prisoners and the duties of officers. This 90 minute guided tour through heritage-listed Number Two Division is child friendly and includes time to explore one of the original cell blocks.
