Bunker down for some brews at Archer Brewing’s Spring Hill hideaway

When the happy hour siren starts blaring, it’s advisable to heed its call and seek shelter at the nearest speakeasy. Archer’s Brewing is one of the newest faces on the beer scene, but it’s already stirred up a good bit of support from the craft community. Nestled underneath The International Hotel in Spring Hill is Archer’s Bunker – a secluded, aviation-inspired bar and brewery that is offering a comprehensive range of freshly concocted beverages to sip in safety.

Gavin Croft and Stuart and Lacy Martin are the masterminds behind Brisbane’s newest craft beer brewery Archer Brewing. Not long after a strong debut at the Beer InCider Experience, the team have decided to unveil its clandestine brewery and bar operation in the heart of Spring Hill. Archer’s Bunker can be found behind an Archer Brewing-branded fridge inside the Cellarbrations at The International Hotel. Behind the door is a veritable Narnia of beery delights, which is designed like an underground bunker and filled with aircraft memorabilia informed by Stuart’s love of planes and previous career as a commercial pilot. The space also houses Archer Brewing’s copper fermenters and brew tanks, where the amber liquid is lovingly crafted before being dispensed on site.

Archer’s Brewing is showcasing all of its beers in its bunker hideout, including its mid-strength lager, a pilsner, pale ale and an I.P.A., in addition to delectable ciders and wines on offer. As you might be in there for a while, Archer’s Bunker is amply provisioned with cheese and charcuterie boards, oven-fired pizzas, vegetable rice paper rolls and vegetable boards to keep you fed while you work your way through the taps. If you can’t make it to Archer’s Bunker, you can still find its beer on tap at Fitz + Potts and The Mill on Constance, while Archer Brewing will be putting out a range of cans in the near future.

Archer’s Bunker is open now! Check out the Stumble Guide for more information.
