After many years as one of Fortitude Valley’s preeminent locales, Alfred & Constance changed hands at the tail-end of 2018, making a period of renewal and rejuvenation. Now under the stewardship of the RMS Group, Alfred & Constance has been given a sprucing across its multi-faceted space and menu. A new breakfast service offers coffee and grab-and-go bakery bites, as well as an a la carte menu of everything from eggs benedict and omelettes to apple and spiced-rum crepes with honeycomb ice-cream and salted-caramel sauce. The revamped lunch and dinner offering includes a relaxed cross-section of dishes, from shareable snacks and burgers to ribs, steaks and chicken parmigiana. The main bar now boasts 12 taps craft and mainstream beers such as Young Henry’s, Stone & Wood, Furphy and James Squire, while the upstairs tiki bar will once again reopen on Friday and Saturday nights with its full complement of cocktails and shared jugs. Alfred & Constance is now open six days a week for breakfast, lunch, dinner and drinks, Monday through Saturday.
