Not long after Brisbane City farewelled Asana Restaurant beneath Capri by Fraser a new fiery tenant took its place. The space was taken over by Mediterranean-inspired eatery Black Fire Brisbane. The restaurant is the second of its kind, the first based in Canberra, and serves a predominantly Spanish menu specialising in whole roasted meats, pinchos and tapas. Pan-tossed squid, smoked pork empanadas, and ten-hour slow-roasted suckling lamb are just a taste of what on offer on Black Fire’s menu, which is centred around organic and free-range produce. Pair the fare with a choice selection of wines and beer and you’ve got a smart dinner destination for any occasion. In addition to the restaurant, Black Fire is also operating a coffee window on Mary Street, which is dispensing coffee from the early hours of the morning.
