Breakfast at Cafe O-Mai is a multicultural affair, with Brioche French Toast with vanilla poached rhubarb, fresh orange segments topped with housemade labna and toasted pistachio sidling up alongside traditional Pho, Rice Paper Rolls and Crispy Spring Rolls. Coffee can come in your traditional latte form on the Toby’s Estate heavy-bodied Wooloomooloo blend or Vietnamese-style, with imported coffee slow dripped over condensed milk and poured over ice for a cool treat. Sweet Corn and Zucchini Fritters also feature at breakfast, while the Pork Meatballs in rich tomato sauce with quail eggs served with a warm baguette is the Vietnamese equivalent of savoury mince. Come lunch, traditional Asian foodstuffs are rolled out, with an extensive Banh Mi selection that will hardly make a dint in your hip pocket. The menu is glutard friendly, there’s Bonsoy available for coffee and the homemade granola, and there’s also traditional lemon soda and cold-pressed fresh juice for the non-coffee drinker.
