Given Kitchen & Bar is the sibling venture from the team behind Paddington’s Ngon. Located just up the road on Given Terrace, the cafe, wine bar and restaurant is based on fusion – the combination of various Asian street foods that have been melded, harmonised and translated across breakfast, lunch and dinner. The venture will operate as an extended pop-up for the duration of 2021, with a breakfast menu offering the likes of bubble-tea panna cotta, ube mochi waffles and karaage-chicken Benny alongside coffee from local roasters The Black Lab Coffee Co. At night the restaurant will serve up an assortment of morsels cooked over coals – think grilled corn coated in dukbokki sauce, whole squid, sliced wagyu rump with Vietnamese chimichurri and a selection of sizzling skewers served on a banana leaf. Given’s easy-to-navigate beverage list encompasses new-wave wines, craft beers, Australian spirits and refreshing cocktails, while DJs will regularly spin obscure vinyl to create a lively atmosphere.
