The crew behind the heralded burger joint Hashtag Burgers & Waffles decided to sharing the love a bit wider in 2023, opening the business up to franchising opportunities in order to take the Hashtag offering to different parts of Brisbane. In May, Hashtag founders Kate Macauley and Matthew Rollo linked up with franchise owner James Pitt to open a location at Kos Village in Capalaba. Boasting an internal footprint close to that of its Fortitude Valley location, but with a spacious patio with ample room for alfresco dining and live entertainment, this haunt is an approachable hang-out spot for hungry locals. You’ll want to come hungry, too – the menu is stacked with around 20 burgers, smashable sides, shakes and dreamy desserts. Hashtag is also the custodian of several recipes concocted by Mac From Way Back, so expect to see some extra-cheesy options on the menu as well. The venue is licensed, with brews from Big Shed, Black Flag and Bacchus Brewing on the taps.
