Brisbane’s Italian food renaissance continued well into 2022, with the brains behind Teneriffe gastropub Dalgety 2.0 Public House getting into the action with pizza, pasta and charcuterie-slinging sibling Italia Lane. Looking to evoke the high-energy action of an Italian street cafe, this locale (tucked away down an alleyway near the corner of Church Street and Ann Street in The Valley) caters to the morning crowd, the lunch hunters and the weekend feasters. A multi-faceted tenancy boasts a sizeable restaurant space, a colourful festoon-lit laneway portion and a business area perfect for corporate lunches and meetings. Though Italia Lane’s offering draws inspiration from Italy as a whole, traces of the Amalfi Coast are prominent across the venue’s breakfast, lunch, dinner menus. A huge woodfired oven will turn out pastries and breads in the morning before being utilised to cook an eight-strong list of pizza varieties later in the day. Charcuterie, shaved in house, also features alongside pasta dishes like rigatoni with guanciale, egg, pecorino and pepper, mains such as beet-cured salmon with grape chutney and gin caviar, and desserts such as tiramisu. Italia Lane’s beverage list features a large selection of wine and cocktails, with a dedicated spritz section featuring carafes of Aperol and limoncello spritzes.
