Mike Mitchell is an art collector turned gallery curator that spent a considerable portion of his career based in the Northern Territory running the successful Indigenous Australian art gallery Muk Muk Fine Art. After relocating to Brisbane is August 2015, Mike set about creating a gallery to continue showcasing Aboriginal art as well as some of the foremost contemporary artists from Australia and abroad. Mitchell Fine Art is a commercial gallery that sits on Arthur Street in Fortitude Valley, boasting a large exhibition space where monthly showcases are held. The only criterion for exhibited works is in regards to quality, with exhibitions from up-and-coming and established mid-career artists held in equal stead. Mitchell Fine Art will maintain its close ties with the Indigenous Australian art community as well as bringing over works from artists in the UK and US in the near future.
