In what is a huge score for Brisbane’s dining scene, beloved Melbourne-born pan-Asian restaurant Supernormal will be opening a sibling site in The City in late 2023. Chef and restaurateur Andrew McConnell’s perpetually pumping Flinders Lane locale is a must-try eatery for those visiting Melbourne, but now Brisbane diners will be able to sample the concept’s pan-Asian menu when it launches at 443 Queen, Cbus Property’s world-class residential tower. The Supernormal team will work with architectural and interior design experts Vince Alafaci and Caroline Choker of Sydney’s ACME to bring Supernormal to life, with a 120-seat layout set to also boast alfresco and private dining spaces. Details on Supernormal’s Brisbane menu (inspired by the flavours of Tokyo, Shanghai, Seoul and Hong Kong) are limited, but the team confirms that local produce from Queensland’s farmers, fishers and foragers will play a big role.
