Good news for coffee-loving locals in the western suburbs – soon you’ll have a new caffeine house to make the post-restriction adjustment period more bearable. Sweetshop Specialty Coffee is the name of the new eatery, which is currently in the works on the corner of Leworthy Street and Stuartholme Road in Bardon. The 40-seat eatery will boast a light and modern aesthetic and will specialise in top-notch brews. Melbourne roaster Seven Seeds on deck as the house roast, but patrons can also expect a rotating selection of blends and single origins from guest roasters. Filter coffee will be a focus, with attention paid to light roasts on the brighter and fruitier end of the spectrum. Sweetshop will be hawking gourmet goodies from Crust & Co. Artisan Baking upon opening, but once the kitchen is fully operational and restrictions have eased the crew will unveil a full breakfast and brunch service too.
