Cirque du Soleil’s Big Top returns to Brisbane with KURIOS – Cabinet of Curiosities

Roll up, roll up – it's time to walk the tightrope to Cirque du Soleil's big top at Northshore Hamilton, as the largest contemporary circus producer in the world is back in Brisbane with its newest show-stopping spectacle. Cirque du Soleil’s 35th production since 1984, KURIOS – Cabinet of Curiosities is set to wow audiences with weird and wonderful acrobatics teamed with hilarious carnival comedy from Friday January 10 to Sunday February 23.

Written and directed by Michel Laprise, KURIOS – Cabinet of Curiosities is a colourful tale that transports the audience inside a fantasy world where anything and everything is possible. In this realm, set in the latter half of the nineteenth century, an ambitious inventor is convinced that there exists a hidden world – a place where the craziest ideas and the grandest dreams await. Stepping into his larger-than-life curio cabinet, audiences  will witness a spectacle of Steampunk-inspired adventures as a collection of otherworldly characters suddenly manifest into the inventor’s makeshift mechanical world.

Like all of Cirque du Soleil’s acclaimed productions, KURIOS – Cabinet of Curiosities features a talented cast of world-class gymnasts, acrobats, contortionists, hand-puppeteers, yo-yo wizards, clowns, actors and musicians – with 47 artists representing 17 different countries. Magnificently costumed and styled, KURIOS is a must-see for 2020, and is a whole new level of extraordinary delivered by Cirque du Soleil.
