As the name suggests, the primary focus of the Felton Food Festival is all about what’s edible. There are a number of activities spread over the course of the weekend that have been tailor-made to highlight farm fresh produce, including a special twilight dinner with celebrity guests and a behind-the-scenes farm tour. This year’s line-up of guests is packed with big names in the food industry, including Gardening Australia’s Costa Georgiadis and Jerry Coleby-Williams, chef Alastair McLeod from Channel Seven’s Queensland Weekender, Queensland food champion Alison Alexander, one of Queensland’s leading pastry chefs Caroline Jones, crowd favourite George the Farmer, and Golden-Guitar-winning country singer Brendon Walmsley.

This year also marks a special pairing, as the Felton Food Festival joins in the celebrations of the World Science Festival back in Brisbane. Dedicated stalls and activities are set to showcase how science is changing the face of the agricultural industry, helping to educate and inspire visitors. These elements will also help crowds to better understand the future of farming in the wake of our changing climate. Punters can also mingle amongst a huge variety of market stalls, take a crop tour, meet a local farmer, take in live cooking demonstrations, learn about the ‘paddock to plate process’, enjoy live entertainment and simply enjoy the country atmosphere.
