Kangaroo Point’s Little Smirk puts smiles on dials

We’re yet to see a bad mood so formidable it couldn’t be busted by a good brunch. The statistics are still coming in, but we’re fairly sure it’s scientifically proven that a good coffee and a scrumptious day starter is the secret to happiness. If you’ve seen some particularly peppy people strolling around Kangaroo Point with smiles on their faces, there’s a good chance they just discovered Little Smirk – a brand-new nook that is emphasising charming service and community spirit.

Like the iconic neighbourhood watering hole, every suburb deserves its own quality coffee spot. Coorparoo locals Nick Ricardo (The Smug Fig, The Cheeky Bean) and Michelle Bosshard are big advocates of the suburban cafe, and when they noticed Kangaroo Point was lacking in the caffeine dispensary tally they took it upon themselves to fix the issue. Little Smirk is a sunny corner cafe situated across the road from Raymond Park on Baines Street, offering comfortable outside dining and takeaways for those that are keen to eat brunch in the park.

Though small, Little Smirk’s kitchen whips up some seriously nourishing nosh, with Nick and Michelle keeping things simple to start. Patrons can snack on classics such as avocado on toast, bacon and eggs, breakfast bruschetta and granola bowls. More adventurous eaters should opt for the Little Smirk Blogger Bowl, which boasts eggs, black rice, kale, asparagus, haloumi and roasted chickpeas ticking all the sustenance boxes, while the hash-brown stack is a go-to choice for anyone seeking a savoury feast. Espresso di Manfredi is the coffee of choice at Little Smirk, while tea drinkers can sip on Pickwick’s finest (the sticky chai comes highly recommended) or those after a cold drink can sample the smoothie of the week.

Little Smirk is now open! For opening hours and contact details, be sure to check out the Stumble Guide.
