Neighbourhood Pizza is back with a clever new way to nosh at home

Neighbourhood Pizza is back with a clever new way to nosh at home

They say necessity is the mother of invention. We say that COVID-19 closures may just be the mother of some epic new food products.

Enter, Neighbourhood Pizza bases. While the much-loved Kenmore pizza joint may have been forced to close its doors in March, owners Mim and Jordan Lomas have proficiently pivoted to now offer their famous bases par-baked and packaged, ready for you to take home. After spending months testing and re-testing in their Coopers Plains production kitchen, the pair have finally landed on the perfect product. Each and every slice of doughy heaven is stretched by hand, topped with hand-crushed sugo, par-baked in the oven and then immediately blast-chilled – ensuring ultimate freshness when you open the packet.

The dough and sauce are both lovingly crafted from scratch using the same ingredients and methods as used in their Moggill Road restaurant for three successful years, but now gifting you with full topping-selection reign. New stockists are regularly being added to the list, but you can currently pick up a two-pack of fresh bases from Craft Wine Store, Rosalie Gourmet, iFruit… Fresh, Superior Fruit and Eleni’s Gourmet Deli. Keep watch on Neighbourhood Pizza’s social channels as they launch an olive oil base option and frozen Margherita pizza very soon. The pair have been working hard behind the scenes to perfect the freezing process and ensure customers will be munching down on crisp, restaurant-quality slices at home. Neighbourhood Pizza devotees can expect a gradual release of other favourite flavours, beginning with mushroom and truffle oil, and fun collaborations down the line.
