NKB Group announces immediate closure of Burnt Ends and Nativo Kitchen & Bar

Less than a year since opening at The Barracks, NKB Group has announced that its two Petrie Terrace-based restaurants will not reopen in 2018. Burnt Ends Kitchen & Bar and Nativo Kitchen & Bar have ceased operation effective immediately, heralding the end of NKB’s presence in Brisbane, which was first established in 2014.

In an announcement sent via email, NKB Group detailed the immediate closures of its two newest venues. In the press release, NKB Group proprietor TJ Peabody confirmed that the decision was made at midday on Friday January 12 to not reopen Burnt Ends Kitchen & Bar and Nativo Kitchen & Bar, which both launched at The Barracks in 2017. NKB Group’s Nantucket Catering has also ceased operation.

According to the release, all members of staff and suppliers have been notified of the closures, with all outstanding payments and redundancies to be distributed as a priority. Customers should also note that all outstanding gift vouchers will be refunded in cash, and are encouraged to contact Veronika Zagrebina for details. Fortitude Valley’s Nickel Kitchen & Bar closed in 2017 as the NKB Group sought new parties to take over ownership, while NKB Express at Indooroopilly will continue to trade up until a new owner for the business is found.
