The aptly named Parma for a Farmer fundraising movement is being run by Rural Aid, with money going specifically towards the Buy a Bale campaign. It’s pretty simple stuff – all you have to do is track down a participating venue and purchase a parma, then $1 from that parma will go directly towards buying bales of hay for drought-stricken farmers. Every little bit makes a difference, too – just $20 buys a small bale of hay to feed cattle, which can make a world of difference in the spots where it’s literally too dry for grass to grow.
So far, a bunch of awesome Brisbane venues have put their hands up to support the Parma for a Farmer movement. Rad pubs like The Defiant Duck, The Fox Hotel, The Wickham, The Lord Alfred and The Pineapple Hotel are amongst the list of spots where you can get your fix and contribute to a great cause – you can check out the full list of participating venues here. If you’re from a venue and you’re interested in registering, you can do so here.
Not DTP (down to parm)? For those who don’t dig chicken, donations can be made to Buy a Bale through the official website.
