Pavement Whispers: Volume 150 November 28

From whispers of famous burgers to magical flying noodles, The Weekend Edition is always on the search for the latest news in Brisbane, dedicated to ensuring its readers are in the know. When we put our ears to the pavement this week, this is what we found out …

Huxtaburger
Last week you went a little crazy when we told you Huxtaburger was popping up in Brisbane for one night only … turns out that might become a whole lot more permanent in the near future. The much-loved Melbourne eatery has announced it’s looking for a permanent location in Brisbane, eager to bring its flavour-packed burgers to our fine city. Details are still yet to be confirmed on Huxtaburger Brisbane, but if you can’t wait to get a taste then you can wrap your mitts around a mouth-watering burg at Melbourne After Dark tomorrow night, Wednesday November 29, when it takes over Lefty’s Old Time Music Hall. The iconic bun-slinger will be serving a bunch of its most popular items to give Brisbane locals a taste of Melbourne, alongside distinctly Melbourne cocktails and live music from Melbourne-based Saskwatch, Remi and The Delta Riggs. Get the full details in our Event Guide.

Flying Noodles
You may have seen it on Instagram from Singapore’s Hana Restaurant – noodles seemingly levitating out of their bowl to a pair of floating chopsticks. Now you can witness this magic performed right before your very eyes – the famous flying noodles are making their Brisbane debut! From 5:00 pm this evening, Tuesday November 28, Oxford Street’s Vietnamese Mint will be serving up the gravity-defying noodles for the very first time. These noodles aren’t just a novelty – they are as delicious as they are mind-blowing. Choose from garlic-prawn noodles, sakura or mee goreng and have your camera at the ready.

Jocelyn’s Provisions Camp Hill
Southsiders! All of your sweet, sweet pasty dreams have come true – Jocelyn’s Provisions has popped up in Camp Hill. Nestled in Camp Hill Marketplace on Samuel Street, the Christmas pop-up will run until December 21 to cater to all of your festive baked-good needs. You’ll find a huge selection of your favourite provisions, cakes, cupcakes, slices and savoury goodies, as well as Christmas gifts and hampers. How can you go wrong with an edible Christmas gift? Simple – you can’t.
