Peach Cafe in Auchenflower unveils a fresh look and eye-catching (and mouth-watering) brunch menu

If it's been a minute since you've dined at Peach Cafe in Auchenflower, do yourself a favour and pencil it in for your next brunch hang. The family-friendly cafe has evolved considerably since opening in 2019, adding some new elements to the space while also completely overhauling its menu with jaw-dropping items like dulce de leche fondue with caramel custard, po' boy Bennies and shakshuka with a side of garlic bread.

In hospitality, improvement is always a part of the process. Nick Riccardo, owner of Peach Cafe in Auchenflower, The Brooke in Fortitude Valley and Little Smirk in Kangaroo Point, knows the importance of continual growth – it’s crucial for keeping things fresh and exciting for his customers. Recent months have seen Nick and the team at Peach Cafe put work in towards improving the venue’s amenities, retooling certain aspects of the cafe’s workflow and look to bring it in line with the popular nosh spot’s lauded fare. “We felt like, if anything, the building’s aesthetic didn’t really marry up well [with the food],” says Nick of the motivation behind Peach Cafe’s makeover. “Now the brand has got the venue it deserves.” Much of Peach’s refurbishment works went towards weatherproofing the pastel-hued venue and expanding its seating capacity. The crew has erected a schmick new undercover dining area at the rear and added more space for diners throughout, ensuring that Peach can now cater to 80 guests at one time.

With Peach Cafe’s physical makeover complete, the team has also decided to give the menu a sprucing. Executive chef Scarlett Spurr has overseen Peach Cafe’s menu relaunch, focusing in on creating food that balances flavour, comfort, familiarity and attractiveness while deftly staying ahead of trends. The end result is a tight menu (that will soon be accessed via a QR code ordering system) that boasts something for all comers (and their respective dietary requirements), naturally delivering big when it comes to taste. Crowd-favourite items like eggs on toast, avocado on sourdough and bircher muesli are always available with a few seasonal twists. Current show-stopping specialities include dulce de leche fondue with caramel custard and cinnamon churro dippers, bulgogi mushroom toast with miso shiitake mushrooms, po’ boy Benedicts, Tunisian-style baked eggs with harissa labneh and garlic pull-apart sub, and a fried-chicken burger with reaper buttermilk ranch. Peach Cafe’s own Much Love coffee blend is perfect for morning perk-ups, but the teddy bear hot chocolate (with an adorable chocolate bear for dipping) is cute enough to sway even the most ardent caffeine craver. Speaking of sweet stuff, it’s worth getting a vegan jam doughnut or Nutella lava cookie to go – trust us, you won’t regret it.

Peach Cafe is open seven days a week for breakfast and lunch. Head to the Stumble Guide for operating hours and menu details.
