Since opening in November last year, the team behind the cheekily named Teneriffe eatery Siffredi’s has helped push the profile of spaghetti from oft-forgotten pantry filler back to the top of the pasta pyramid where it rightly belongs. What’s more, the kitchen’s free-wheeling approach to flavourful of-the-moment ingredient pairings (plus the bar’s cracking ever-evolving wine selection) has cemented the eatery’s status as one of the more exciting entrants on Brisbane’s dining scene. Now the team is giving locals an opportunity to enjoy that experience at home with a range of Siffredi’s own takeaway range, which officially launches on Tuesday March 30.
At the core of the range is, of course, spaghetti. The Siffredi’s team has assembled three flavoured spaghetti packs to take home and speedily prepare, with each option including two bundles of fresh spaghetti, a sachet of sauce and a pot of garnish. It’s as easy as ABC – boil the pasta in salted water, heat the sauce in a pan, plate the two together and serve/devour. Simple. The debut range includes spaghetti with prawns, romesco and XO sauce, cacio e pepe with pickled onions, and braised brisket ragu with chianti sauce and parsley. Each pack serves two, can be made gluten free and will only set you back $25. In addition to the spaghetti, the Siffredi’s takeaway menu also boasts two sides – a plate of cured meats served with pickled cucumber ($12) and a smoked burrata and rocket salad with salsa verde ($10). Wine can also be purchased to take home at cheaper take-away pricing. Expect the range to change every two months as new ingredients come into season.
