The Curated Plate has released the first peep at its jam-packed menu of culinary events and it’s looking more appetising than ever! Celebrating the Sunny Coast’s best produce and producers from the sea to the hinterland, this foodie-fave festival offers opportunities to sip and snack your way through a smorgasbord of epicurean experiences.
Three signature events comprise the main course of the festivities. Two remain a sexy secret until a little closer to the festival’s kick-off date, but the first to be revealed is the Sunshine Coast Asian Food Festival, presented by Spicers Tamarind in the green fields of Maleny. Last year this event was such a show-stopping sell-out that this time they’ve expanded it into a two-day extravaganza across August 3-4, so no one has to miss out on the fun!
Repping the event as ambassadors in 2024, esteemed chefs Tom Hitchcock, Peter Kuravita and Cam Matthews will make for spicy seasoning, popping up throughout the program. Peter Kuravita will serve a ‘Smoke and Charcoal BBQ Lunch’ at Australia Zoo’s Warrior Restaurant, while Tom Hitchcock prepares special The Curated Plate cooking classes at Spirit House’s cooking school. All three of them will sit down with celebrity cook Hayden Quinn to get chatty for Chefs in Conversation at Altitude 9, in Maroochydore’s City Centre.
Other highlights include delicious dining experiences at some of the Sunshine Coast’s most well-known and celebrated restaurants, from Brunch on the Balcony at The Mapleton Pub to Dinner on the Deck at Harry’s on Buderim. If you’re looking to get a little fancy, raise your pinkies to the sky at the Hinterland High Tea with Adriano Zumbo at Maleny’s Tiffany’s, or – if you’re feeling more kooky and spooky – try the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party at Yanalla Farm.
The full event program for The Curated Plate Food and Drink Festival will be announced in April when tickets go on sale. You can keep up to date by heading to the festival’s website here.
