Get a glimpse inside Hotel X – Fortitude Valley’s new five-star accommodation destination

The secret to making the most of any getaway is ensuring that you're able to rest your head as close to the action as possible. In February 2021, Fortitude Valley officially welcomed Hotel X – a five-star hotel operating on the mantra of 24-hours of play and stay. Hotels don't get much more convenient than this – read on to have a peek inside ...

We like to make a big deal about how important having an X-factor is when it comes to standing out, but Brunswick Street’s lush new lodging development is staking its name on providing that exciting spark. Hotel X is Fortitude Valley’s new cutting-edge 146-room hotel, dining and lifestyle destination from InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) – a company known globally for its portfolio of impeccable accommodation brands. Originally planned to launch as Hotel Indigo Brisbane, IHG and developer Pointcorp elected to create an independent hotel name outside of the IHG Hotels & Resorts brand, establishing an identity that more accurately reflects the site’s luxurious look and features, while also crafting a concept that is unique to Brisbane.

Located just a short stroll from Brunswick Street Mall (plus boasting close proximity to James Street and Howard Smith Wharves), Hotel X is easily spottable thanks to its white geometric design (conceived by Cottee Parker Architects), the facade of which is illuminated by a custom lighting display. The hotel’s interior lobby and rooms boast a modern aesthetic and custom furnishings, joined by a host of artwork by Justin Nicholas. The suites (which range in size from standard king rooms to lavish corner terrace suites) feature appliances from GHD and Dyson, as well as eye-catching amenities designed by Karl Lagerfeld. Guests at Hotel X will also be given access to a sizeable gymnasium, concierge valet, room service and an event function space. What’s more, award-winning local hospitality crew the Ghanem Group (Donna Chang, Blackbird Bar & Grill, Byblos) will be establishing two new dining concepts within the hotel’s ground-floor restaurant space and rooftop poolside bar and eatery. The French-inspired Bisou Bisou is open now and taking bookings, while Mediterranean rooftop stunner Iris is slated for a March debut.

Hotel X is open now – head to the official website for a closer look at the accommodation packages and booking details.
