Bathhouses, doughnuts and lush pavilions – what’s coming to West Village

If you can believe it, West Village's retail arm is already a year old! In the space of 12 months, the lifestyle precinct quickly become one of our favourite places to shop, dine and to be honest, just chill out. As pop-rock band D:Ream once sung "things can only get better” and they're certainly set to be levelled up at West Village, which will soon be home to a new doughnut dispensary, a rooftop wellness wonderland and a two-storey sipping and snacking spot.

There’s a bunch of exciting openings coming to West Village over the next few months, and we’ve got a taste of what’s on the horizon. Wellness seekers will be happy to learn that the creators of the Gold Coast’s much-loved Soak Bathhouse are bringing their urban oasis concept to West Village this spring. Centred around communal relaxation and social bathing, Brisbane’s Soak Bathhouse will be a hub for unwinding and recharging – with some stellar city views to boot. The luxurious rooftop bathhouse and wellness destination will boast seven mineral pools ranging from cold plunge baths to hot spas. There will also be a cedar sauna, a steam room, several relaxation areas, a sundeck, lush gardens and the opportunity to indulge in spa massages, LED facials and private infrared sauna sessions. Soak Bathhouse will join West Village’s other top-notch health, wellness and beauty spots like Next Practice West End, Skin Partners, Vitalign, Bobbie Charles, La Diva Nails, For Eyes Only, Col Nayler Barbershop, Goodlife West End and The Practice Modern Dentistry.

Talking of treats, beloved baked-goods slinger nodo is also set to join the West Village fold with a doughnut-filled kiosk in Peters Lane this spring. This grab-and-go joint will be stocked to the brim with nodo’s signature range of doughnuts and will also be serving specialty coffee. In addition to the baked beauties and caffeinated bevies, nodo West Village will serve classic nodo menu items grab-and-go style – we’re talking classic egg toast, house-made pumpkin loaf and nourish bowls, as well as cold and hot coffee, cold-pressed juices and nodo’s supernatural shakes.

Now, for the cherry on top of the cake. We’ve heard from the source itself that West Village will soon be home to a new sophisticated sipping and snacking spot called The Garden Pavilion. This dreamy two-storey venue will front Boundary Street, with a breezy space overlooking The Common. There’s been whispers that a luxe Japanese offering will be housed upstairs while downstairs will be a steakhouse that’s set to dish up meaty morsels aplenty. Keep your eyes peeled as we will have more information on this newcomer closer to its opening date in early 2023.
