Over the past eight months, the RMS Group (Hellcat Maggie, Alfred & Constance, Harvest on Queen) has firmly put its stamp on the inner-city drinking and dining scene. Following hot on the heels of the launch of its multi-faceted food hall at 480 Queen, the hospitality crew as added a new all-day-brunch-spot-cum-boozer The Pouring Room to the building’s Adelaide Street entry. The chic corner space is modelled off classic European street bars, crafting a fluid food and drink selection that can morph to the needs of the day (or night). Large windows open up to Adelaide Street – offering a prime perch for people watching – while booth and table seating occupy the central floor space. An eye-catching bar sits next to a dedicated charcuterie prep area, complete with fresh breads, fermenting jars and a packed meat and cheese fridge. The coming months will see a deck installed around the exterior, offering more spots to lounge while the press of The City passes by.
The Pouring Room kicks things off early, with a morning service spearheaded by fresh cups of Humanity Coffee Co. coffee, patisserie treats made in-house and an a la carte breakfast menu full of classics. As morning makes way for afternoon, the lunch and dinner menu comes into play, offering up top tucker in the shape of chicken parmigiana, rump steaks, pizzas, healthy salads and much more. When the sun sets, fare swivels to the stellar cheese and charcuterie option, which sees platters stacked high with moreish morsels. The selection boasts a blend of Australian and imported goods, ranging from prosciutto di Parma, Maese Miguel manchego cheese, triple-cream brie from Seal Bay and Hungarian sausage. The Harvest on Queen chefs also ferment a range of products on site, adding a tangy pickled element to the mix. As for the drinks, mainstream and craft beers flow, a globe-spanning wine list offers plenty of choice and the cocktail and spirit range is perfect for those after something with more punch.
The Pouring Room is open to the public from Monday to Friday. Head to the Stumble Guide for opening hours and more information.
