It’s been recently announced that the iconic festival – and one of Brisbane's most beloved rights of passage – Splendour in the Grass has been cancelled for 2024. The news came after a slew of festivals had already faced the axe in the last few months. But fear not – there are still ample acts making their way down under to give you your live music fix. Here are a few shows making their way to a venue near you soon.


Pandemonium Rocks Gold Coast, April 27
This new festival is bringing music greats to Doug Jennings Park this April – including the likes of Blondie, Alice Cooper, Wheatus, The Psychedelic Furs and plenty more. The rockstar-studded event will be backdropped by the breathtaking ocean views of Main Beach. Get ready for a day of nostalgic tunes on the green. Tickets are on sale here.

Out 2 Lunch Festival, May 4
Out 2 Lunch will be welcoming hometown hero (and international heavyweight) Fisher, alongside Flight Facilities, Vintage Culture and more to the Coolangatta beachfront for a sun-soaked beach party. Take in spectacular views whilst unwinding to sets spun by powerhouse DJs. Tickets are on sale here.

Nick Cave, May 13
The enigmatic Australian artist is touring Australia from April with a host of shows across the country. This latest show Solo explores his extensive and renowned catalogue including the most-loved tracks from his band Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds. Supported by Radiohead’s Colin Greenwood on bass guitar, the show is expected to be an intimate reflection on his ever-evolving artistic pursuit. Tickets are on sale here.

Jungle, May 19
The British band recently ascended to viral status over the past year thanks to the unprecedented success of the track ‘Back on ‘74’. This May, Jungle returns to Brisbane for a show at The Fortitude Music Hall to tour the funk-focused sounds of its new album Volcano. Tickets are on sale here.

Alice Phoebe Lou, May 31
The South African singer-songwriter has become a fixture of pop-folk music, famed for seamlessly sparring between delicate ballads and anthemic hits. Alice Phoebe Lou is best known for her angelic voice and skilled storytelling as she imbues her music with the personal. She’s bringing her latest album Shelter to the Zoo this May 31. Open Season, winter 2022 
The wintertide festival returns for its third year, scoring a line-up of international artists who will be taking the stage of Brisbane’s best venues. This year, Open Season scored the likes of Pond, Yves Tumor, Sky Ferreira, Explosions in the Sky and many more. Find out more about what’s in store here.

Middle Kids, June 1
Middle Kids has long been known for its emotive and introspective tracks and its 2023 release Faith Crisis Pt 1 only served to cement this reputation. The 2021 J Award for Australian Album of the Year winner is the master of heartfelt lyrics and full-bodied instrumentals. Catch the band is touring its third studio album this winter, making its return to The Tivoli stage. Tickets are on sale here.

Black Rheno, July 6
The genre-bending metal music of Black Rheno will be headlining a show this July at Mo’s Desert Clubhouse. The Sydney-based group is known for its groove metal sounds and post-punk sensibility. Tickets are on sale here.

Angus & Julia Stone, August 6
Sibling duo Angus and Julia Stone will enchant audiences with a unique and intimate experience at QPAC’s Concert Hall this August. The soul-stirring concert sees the two reunite after their own recent solo ventures to perform indie-music icons like ‘Big Jet Plane’ and ‘Chateau’ as well as new materials. Boy & Bear, supported by Sarah Blasko, August 16 and 17
For the first time, Boy & Bear will be performing its acclaimed Harlequin Dream album in full to celebrate ten years since the ARIA chart-topping, platinum-selling album was released. Boy & Bear will be supported by Sarah Blasko for two nights at The Tivoli this August as they reminisce with tracks like ‘Southern Sun’ and ‘Three Headed Woman’. Tickets are on sale here.

Pearl Jam supported by The Pixies, November 13
The iconic alt-rock band will be touring its eagerly awaited 12th studio album this year – offering Aussie fans the rare opportunity to see the rock gods alongside fellow beloved band The Pixies. The Dark Matter Tour will be coming to Gold Coast’s People First Stadium this November, with Pearl Jam set to play over three decades of its generation-defining music. Tickets are on sale here.


Wallows, December 14
The alt-rock trio Wallows has been on the rise in the indie scene for the last few years. Led by the internet’s boyfriend Dylan Minette, the band will tour its soon-to-be-released third album Model this summer at Riverstage Brisbane. With new music produced by St. Vincent and Sharon Van Etten, Wallows fans can expect lighter and pop-infused sounds. Tickets are on sale here.

Dom Dolla, December 21
It’s no secret that this Aussie DJ is loved most by his own, with two record-breaking sell-out shows at Melbourne’s Sidney Myer Music Bowl last year before co-headlining Spilt Milk. Dom Dolla’s addictive dance tracks have been getting festivals of people grooving the world over so start saving up. The house-music artist will be coming to town this summer for a show at Riverstage Brisbane. Tickets are on sale here.

Cigarettes After Sex, March 17 2025
The ethereal-ambient music of Cigarettes After Sex has become a staple of the shoegaze genre, with its third-studio album set for release this July. The trio will dazzle Brisbane with its latest dream-pop sounds next year with a show at this Brisbane Entertainment Centre. Tickets are already on sale here
