Bring out the florals and polish the champagne flutes – a new pop-up arrives for spring

There are a few key fundaments to celebrating the end of winter and start of spring. Outdoor activities, getting back to the beach, afternoon picnics – we immediately conquer most of these essentials once the warmer-weathered months return to the city. We also tend to find ourselves a little more inclined to a couple of social drinks (can you blame us?). You probably already have a faithful list of outdoor bars ready to revisit this spring, but there should always be room to try something new, and we know just the thing!


Customs House is bringing another instalment of its pop-up bar series to Brisbane, this time with its Moët Rosé Garden. You can find yourself sipping Chandon all afternoon long when this bright little bar goes full-bloom from Thursday September 26, opening Thursday to Saturday from 4:00pm until late and Sunday between 12:00–4:00 pm. Customs House’s picture-perfect location, positioned riverside on Brisbane’s Queen Street, will be the spot to frock up and party this summer period, and while the star of the show is Moët & Chandon, the romantic rose with berry and stone fruit aromas and floral freshness isn’t the only sip on offer. There will also be an array of pink-hued wines from across the globe including Moët Brut Imperial NV, Rameau d’Or, rose sangria and a Moët rose-based ‘Pretty in Pink’ cocktail.

The drinks will be accompanied by pop-up menu too, featuring the likes of prosciutto and Parmigiano Reggiano boards, delicate scampi caviar blini with creme fraiche and chervil, duck spring rolls with kimchi and XO sauce, and fried cauliflower with whipped lemon ricotta. Those who have already found themselves venturing into pop-up territory will be pleased to know the crowd-favourite – the Moreton Bay bug croissant – will also be available, now served with crisp prosciutto, iceberg lettuce and lime mayo. All things considered, you will be forgiven for frequenting the Moët Rosé Garden at Customs House for every catch-up, knockoff or Sunday sesh this spring.
