The round-up: stomach stuffers over stocking stuffers – where to eat on Christmas Day

With Halloween now in our rear-view mirror, it's time to take stock of what's ahead. The biggest holiday milestone on the horizon is Christmas and, whether you're ready or not, it's coming fast. The Christmas Day celebration is one of the most joyous and frustrating aspects of the festive season. In addition to dealing with cantankerous in-laws, gift wrapping and ensuring cookies are laid out for Santa, you've got a whole meal (or several meals) to prepare. Well, what if you let someone else take care of the cooking this year? Christmas is all about enjoying yourself, so leave the meal prep and cooking up to the experts and relax. We’ve decided to give you your gift early in the form of this list of spots to chow down on Christmas Day, so now all you have to do is sort out your own present shopping (you should really get on that, we're expecting something good).

Medley, Kangaroo Point: Join Kangaroo Point favourite Medley for a very special four-course Christmas Day lunch with a sparkling wine on arrival. You’ll be able to dig in to tastebud-tempting bites like Moreton Bay bug salad with celeriac, coconut, citrus sauce and black caviar and Xmas Beef Pie made with eye fillet, mushroom and truffle duxelle and served with full-bodied red wine sauce. Guests can choose between an 11:00 am and 2:00 pm seating, with live music set to fill the air from 12:30–3:30 pm. Tickets are $125 per adult and $45 per child. Make a booking here.

Top off the day with a sweet fix of chocolate parfait or coconut sorbet with tropical fruit. Already have lunch plans sorted but craving a Ducks-style feast?
